Something I learned the hard way: Always take responsibility for where you’re at in whatever situation you’re in. The more you take full responsibility, the more you can do something to change your circumstances because the focus of control is within you.
Always listen to your patient. If you listen carefully they’ll tell you how to help them.
Never be afraid to change jobs. In the end, the only regrets we have, are the chances we didn't take....

Treat each patient as you would like to be treated or you would like to see your closest family member treated. Strive to be the most knowledgeable and the most compassionate person in the room.
Medical providers have offered me the best clinical advice and guidance in my practice - once I learned about evidence-based practice and how it is implemented into patient care- life changed. Nurses do not embrace clinical medical guidelines in education or clinical practice. Guidelines are standard of care and direct the clinical management of patients. My medical colleagues have made me a better clinician.
When all else fails put your hands on the patient. List to what they say 85% of all diagnoses are made by carefully listening.
